A private house · An open door
A letter from the house
“A hotel should give you more than a room. It should give you the feeling that, for a little while, you belong.”
That is the thought behind Palazzo Aurelia. Eighteen rooms allow us to remain a house: intimate enough to know a preference, generous enough to leave you entirely to yourself.
We imagine a Venice experienced slowly. Coffee before the city wakes. A painting looked at twice. Dinner that becomes a conversation.

The palazzo, reimagined
In our imagined history, this canal residence began as a merchant’s house. Its rooms held conversations, collections and ordinary family life long before they welcomed guests.
Our restoration story preserves the arched windows, traces of fresco and worn stone. New comforts sit quietly beside them: warm light, thoughtful bathrooms and furniture chosen to be lived with.
The result is a residence that carries its imagined past lightly.

Craft, close at hand
A stair softened by footsteps. A wall with more than one shade of plaster. A bronze handle that feels familiar before you have used it.
These details form the visual language of the house. Our fictional restoration honours their irregularity rather than polishing every surface into sameness.
A day in the house
Coffee, warm bread and the canal slowly waking.
A private passage or a walk with no particular destination.
Water, a book and an hour at Acqua Aurelia.
Seasonal plates at Riva; a final glass in the salon.

The arrival is part of the stay
By boat. In the world of Palazzo Aurelia, a private water taxi brings you directly to the palazzo’s canal door. The journey is an introduction to the city.
On foot. A quieter pedestrian entrance opens from a small Venetian passage. Wear comfortable shoes; a city of bridges rewards an unhurried walk.
Location and travel arrangements are fictional. Our contact demo lets you imagine the details of an arrival.
